Really Red Bottle

Really Red Bottle 6x6 oil
I always look for bottles when in antique stores and yard sales.  Transparent glass appeals to me, especially when it is colored.  This strange little bottle sought me out and called my name.  I experiment with red from time to time because it seems to be so limiting, that when I pull it off, I am always excited.  Red affects everything around it and dominates in a strong way.
My daughter flies in from New York tomorrow morning and fun and much other celebration stuff is ahead.  We are looking forward to seeing her - it's been a while.
Christmas is 7 days away.  Last minute purchases can be made on my website, shipped and received in time.  Be blessed - SJo

Yeehaw - a taste of Texas 6x6 oil

Yeehaw 6x6 Oil
My good friend was cleaning out a quart jar of odds and ends one evening as we sat at her dining table. She tossed these over and said "you can have them if you want them." Want them? Of course I wanted them. We had just gotten our Texas driver's license and our Texas plates, so we truly felt like we had returned home. I named this 6x6 painting "Yeehaw" in honor of the occasion.

"Yeehaw" can be purchased on my website by card through PayPal for $100 plus shipping. Or give me a call at 423-737-4692 to purchase by check. Good night .....SJo

Glow

"Glow" oil 6x6
"Glow" was the 2nd 6"x 6" I painted after returning to Texas.  I have a collection of various kinds and colors and shapes of bottles. I collect them from antique shops, junk shops, garage sales, and ancient trash piles. Jim brought a wonderful black wine bottle from Russia some years ago.  It sits in a special place awaiting it's turn to step up to the block and be painted.  I occasionally even purchase new ones. They all catch light, reflect light, refract light, and cast a marvelous glow of color on their surroundings as well as cast shadows.

It is my plan to post what will be, hopefully, worthwhile verbiage, but for now I consider it to be amazing that I have actually begun.  The trick now, which I am not sure about, is to actually have viewers see and read this blog.   SJo

A Rose Just Is

A Rose Just Is - oil 6x6
I have decided, after much deliberation, and much examination of this thing of blogging, that I am committed to join.  It's a little late perhaps, but sometimes courage and just plain time to do it is an issue.  In the past two years I have begun two different blogs without continuing so now is the time!

Being back in Texas after 5 years, setting up the studio, and working to produce consistently has inspired me to jump into this arena.

With the gift giving season swiftly approaching I am offering a new category of original art along with the ability to simply purchase it from my website.  Having carefully observed the trend of artists offering small paintings at very reasonable prices for those who would be interested, I have, at long last decided to join this trend also.  Nothing slow about me ...

At this time all my paintings including the small ones can be purchased on my website by credit card through secure PayPal
